Welcome to the

Giving Voice Dementia-Friendly Choral Library

An ever-growing collection of dementia-friendly choral music specifically adapted using Giving Voice’s Dementia-Friendly Choral Guidelines. To make these arrangements widely available while honoring copyright requirements, titles are offered for purchase through various licensed publishing platforms.

Why This Library Matters

Creating a dementia-friendly choral experience means thoughtfully adapting music: using clear, uncluttered sheet music, larger fonts, supportive vocal ranges, simplified rhythms, and more. Most existing choral music isn’t naturally suited to these adaptations, so choir leaders often create their own arrangements — a process that takes significant time, skill, and resources. This library was created to reduce that barrier. We offer ready-to-use dementia-friendly music and provide a space for composers and arrangers across the network to share their own adaptations.

Why Music is Sold Through Various Platforms

Most music is copyrighted and cannot legally be distributed for free. Because our library features arrangements from many composers and arrangers, each using different publishing platforms, you may be redirected to a variety of external sites to complete your purchase. Giving Voice uses Arrange.Me, a licensed platform that ensures arrangements are distributed legally through sheet music retailers such as Musicnotes.com and Sheetmusicplus.com.

The Dementia-Friendly Choral Guidelines

Giving Voice Initiative has been supporting and leading dementia-friendly choirs across the country for more than a decade. The Dementia-Friendly Choral Guidelines are grounded in extensive real-world experience, ongoing feedback from singers and facilitators, and evidence-based research from experts in the field. Through our work with the Giving Voice Choruses and Network Choirs nationwide, we have found these practices to be the most consistently effective and supportive for singers living with dementia. At the same time, we recognize that every community is unique. If you’ve discovered approaches that work particularly well for your singers, we would love to learn from you! We are deeply committed to ongoing learning and adaptation and value the shared wisdom of this community as we continue to grow together.
