J. David Moore
Artistic Director
Edina Chorus, Saint Paul Choruses at House of Hope & JCC
J. David Moore spent his childhood wanting variously to be Gene Kelly, Art Garfunkel, Glen Campbell, or Julie Andrews. As a grown-up, he is a composer, arranger, conductor, teacher, and Southerner who has lived in the Upper Midwest for most of his life. He publishes through his company Fresh Ayre Music and is the founder and conductor of the First Readings Project, a chamber choir that produces high-quality demo recordings of new or unperformed music.
He lives with his beautiful wife and son in Minneapolis, where he drinks tea, boards dogs, and is distracted by shiny objects. He once wrote an opera for fourth-graders about candy and alien invasion.
His musical endeavors have been broad and various, but spending time with Giving Voice may be the best thing he’s ever done.
