Giving Voice is important to me because I’ve seen firsthand how music can open doors that dementia tries to close. As a neuroscientist, forthcoming music therapist, and musician—and someone who carries an APOE allele associated with increased risk for Alzheimer’s—I feel deeply connected to this work. I’m passionate about supporting programs grounded in evidence-based practice that translate research into real-world joy, connection, and purpose. Giving Voice reminds us what is still possible through creativity, community, and song.
